Story of the Day
To draw together all of the learning about Ancient Greece and in honour of the all-powerful king of the gods, father of humanity, god of the skies, justice and kingship, Zeus, we held Greek Day.
We shared our learning with Zeus, the chief deity of the Parthenon, and he was very impressed with the children’s knowledge and understanding of life in Ancient Greece including the role of women, key events from the time and, of course, the importance of the gods. We also amazed him with poetry inspired by Ancient Greece and specially made slippers.
At the end of the day, we shared a delicious meal including pita bread with a selection of dips, moussaka and Greek yogurt with honey and figs.
A fantastic time was had by all.
