Macau Class had a wonderful visit to the Gilbert White Field Study Centre to conclude their Geography topic about rivers. They spent the morning down at the Oakhanger Stream, where they were able to get in the river and carry out some activities to see how healthy the river is. This included measuring the width and depth of the river as well as investigating which creatures call the river home. In the afternoon, the children worked in teams to create their own river, using large sticks. They had to include all the features they have learnt about, such as a tributary and meander.Â
The children had the a great time and demonstrated their river knowledge exceptionally!
