This half term in Art we have been focusing on our drawing skills by exploring line and shape. We started the topic by learning some facts about our key artist, Bridget Riley and created pages in our sketchbook by sticking pictures of her artwork and saying what we noticed about it. We then looked at the different types of lines we could make thinking about control and pressure and using different materials. In our next session we made marks and lines while listening to different types of music after learning about another artist, Paul Klee, and how he plays the violin before creating his art. We then looked at how to create organic shapes by connecting different types of lines together. We finished the topic by looking at the lines and shapes we can find on our faces and created a Paul Klee style self portrait. We loved our art learning this half term and created some fantastic artwork to be super proud of!
