Over the past few weeks, the children have worked incredibly hard exploring the classic poem The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt. They have developed their understanding of the poem's rich language and challenging vocabulary, including words such as wily, flattering, coy and dismal. Using these ideas as inspiration, the children have planned and written their own descriptive narratives, carefully creating atmosphere, building suspense and using ambitious vocabulary to bring their characters and settings to life. We are very proud of the creativity, effort and enthusiasm they have shown throughout this unit of work.
