Stories to Support Children with Understanding their Feelings and Zones

One day, Colour Monster wakes up feeling very confused. His emotions are all over the place; he feels angry, happy, calm, sad and scared all at once! To help him, a little girls shows him what each feeling means through colour.

What is the colour monster feeling? Can you help him feel a little less mixed up?

This book is a great way to explore different feelings with children.

This book helps children to explore a range of emotions including happiness, sadness, bravery, anger and shyness. This book helps children to explore how these emotions feel using language that will empower them to articulate and identify their own emotions.

Clark is a shark with a lot of energy. Sometimes he zooms into school and crashes through the classrom. Clark always means well but when his enthusiasm gets a little too much for his friends, his teacher helps him to learn some strategies to calm down. This story is a great way to teach children about controlling their impulses and to think about how their actions can affect others.

Even superheroes get scared sometimes. When this happens, they acknowledge the feeling and then choose to be brave! There are villains to fight and cities to save!

Children can follow the superheroes' examples and take deep breaths, ask for help and face new challenges.

This book helps children to understand their feelings and to know that these feelings come and go. The book helps children to accept all of ther different feelings, invite them in and to understand that they won't stay forever.
