Our Year Five scientists took their learning outdoors to explore the forces of gravity in a hands-on way. Using everyday materials, they designed and built their own mini parachutes, then tested how different sizes affected the speed of descent. There were plenty of predictions, surprises, and laughter as parachutes floated (or zoomed!) to the ground. It was a fantastic mix of creativity and science in action!
