Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly thank you to all of you for your support and understanding at this difficult time. We continue to follow Government guidelines and most importantly are working hard to keep everything calm and effective for the children as much as is possible in school. I have decided to take a few further measures today to try to reduce risks to individuals.

I have postponed the visit from M&M Productions who were going to do a production of ‘Jungle Book’ for years 1-6 this afternoon. I want to reduce unnecessarily putting lots of children and staff in the same room at the same time. In the same vein I have also cancelled all school assemblies. Film Night this week is cancelled – we will be sending home the money’s paid in an envelope today.

Sadly our ‘Come and See our Learning’ session this Friday afternoon will also be postponed. Hopefully we can do this in the summer term. Parents Evening consultations next week are also cancelled.

We will continue our after-school clubs this afternoon but as of TOMORROW (Wednesday) ALL before and after school clubs are cancelled. If your child attends a paying club such as Gymnastics, Judo or Dance we will roll those weeks over into the summer term.

Breakfast club and the after school SCL will continue as normal until further notice.

Lastly I just want to say if your child, you or any family member is in the high risk category then we will wholeheartedly support a decision to self-isolate, there will not be any penalties occurred. We also have to take into account the health and wellbeing of our staff and likewise will be supporting them if they choose to self-isolate. It is with huge regret but due to my own health issues, which puts me into the high risk category that I have taken the extremely difficult decision to self-isolate. I will be working from home to ensure the cogs at school keep turning. My senior leadership team is the best in the business and they will continue to make sure the school is a brilliant place to be.

If you have any queries regarding any of this please don’t hesitate to ask.

My sincere best wishes,

Laura Ovenden
