Story of the Day
In Science we have been learning all about ourselves. We have been looking at human growth, going from a baby to an adult. Part of our learning focused on what a baby needs when they are born and the role of a midwife. We were delighted to have a visit from Laura who taught us all about what a baby needs and what her role was as a midwife. Thank you for visiting Laura, the children now know lots of facts from your visit.
Harry - Babies need milk.
Harley - Every three hours they need to be fed.
Evie - As soon as a baby is born they cry.
Henry - babies need lots of cuddles
Harry - midwife checks the baby's nappy
Lyra - some baby's have dummies
Teddy - some babies don't like dummies
Theo - the midwife checks the baby over to see if they are ok
Logan - midwife checks the baby has the walking reflex
Toby - one of the checks that a midwife does is to check if the baby can hear properly.
Franek - put clothes on the baby
Kayleigh - Put the baby on the mummy's chest so it can hear the heartbeat
