GB Athlete Visit!

NEWS

25th May 2017

On Thursday 25th May Tower Hill had a visit from Olympic athlete Cassie Patten!

Our school hall was turned into a sponsored fitness circuit for the morning, where the children took part in four different activities; spotty dogs, leg drives, press ups and star jumps. Cassie and our Sportivator David were extremely motivating and had all the children and staff joining in and working up a sweat!

We then had an assembly led by Cassie, who was extremely inspiring and very funny! Cassie told us all about how she got into swimming and her journey towards winning her Bronze medal in the 10k Open Water Swimming event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She even brought her medal in to show us!

I'm sure all the children will agree that the visit was the perfect way to end the half term and we hope they came home 'buzzing' to tell you all about their day of sport!

The children will now be asking to collect their sponsorship money, which needs to be returned to school by Thursday 8th June. Should you still wish to sponsor your child, there are two easy ways to do so: using paper sponsorship form that your child will have brought home (more spare copies in the office), or just as easy, it takes a few minutes to create an online fundraising page for your child by clicking on the Sports for Schools link below.

A huge thank you in advance of your generous support with this event! We are very excited to be able to purchase new sports equipment for school with the money raised from sponsorship in order to develop even more sporting opportunities for the children at Tower Hill!
