Top Tips for Home Learning

  • First of all, don’t panic if your child/children are at home with you! There are lots of websites/activities provided by teachers which will keep your child/children entertained and busy. Click on the HOME LEARNING tab on the website to see the links to support home learning.

  • You don’t need a computer to be able to access all these wonderful resources, you can use a phone/tablet too. Children who are in school with us will have time during the school day to complete home learning tasks.

  • Try to create a daily timetable which will help keep the day structured for the children (and you!) Plan in time for ‘playtime’, activity time, free time and snack time.

  • The children can keep active by completing home workouts. You can log onto Joe Wick’s (The Body Coach) You Tube channel and search The Body Coach TV to complete a range of short workouts each day. He will be streaming LIVE every weekday morning at 9am. This is a great way to keep your children entertained, fit and healthy during their time at home- and it’s fun!

  • Try not to peak with all your wonderful ideas too soon! This could go on for a while and you will burn out pretty quickly if you overdo it.

  • To access the children’s work set by their class teacher, either look on their class page on the website or they can log onto the VLE so that they can see their Home Learning Menu. There will be 6 tasks each week for the children to work through. New Home Learning Menu’s will be posted every Monday.

  • The children also have their Times Table Rock Stars account and My Maths account to support their maths learning. Tasks will be set each Monday on My Maths for the children to complete.
