We have been talking to the children in assembly about how to keep safe on line. We talked about how unkind words that are posted online are there forever, even if they are taken down and can be extremely harmful to the people whoa re reading them.
We introduced the children to two simple rules:
The first rule is: if you are going to send a text or post something on social media, ask yourself the question ‘Would I want to wear this on my t-shirt all day for everybody I meet to read?’ If the answer to this question is No, then don’t do it!
The second rule is: if you are not brave enough to say it to someone's belly and see their reaction, then don't say it behind their back - or whilst hiding behind a screen.
