Welcome to Petrin!

Children

What the Children Do
Hi,

We have had a great start to Year 4 as Petrin Class and I am very excited for what is to come this year! I hope all of your children have enjoyed it as much as the adults in Petrin Class and that you, as parents, feel at ease with how things have gone so far.

Here is some key information that you have hopefully already seen on your welcome letter...

PE Days:
Tuesday and Thursday
The children will need to come to school dressed in their PE kits.

Outdoor Learning:
Thursday
As we head into the winter months, the children will need a coat and sensible footwear to wear during their outdoor learning sessions.

Handwriting:
Handwriting homework will go out every Monday and needs to be returned by Friday.

Please make sure you are listening to your child read, at least 3 times a week. We will be checking Reading Records on a Monday.

Please make sure you are continuing to practise your times tables at home ready for the Multiplication Tables Check at the end of the year. Below are some websites you can use to support your times tables.

Reading at Home/Reading Books:
It is important that the children have their reading books and reading records in school every day as we aim to read with all of the children throughout the week, in school. This process becomes harder when there are reading books and records missing.
We will change the children's reading books as often as needed from the classroom selection. The children will also get the opportunity to visit the school library. We ask children to read a minimum of three times per week.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come and see me!
