Today (14th March) Year 2 took part in a History workshop to consolidate their learning about the Great Fire of London. The children started by warming up their bodies and voices, pretending to be King Charles II, Thomas Farriner the baker and a sufferer of the plague!
They were then introduced to Samuel Pepys who took them back in time to Sunday 2nd September 1666 and narrated the story of the Great Fire of London, (with the children's help!) from where and when it started to when it was eventually put out.
Year 2 had so much fun re-enacting the events of the Great Fire and it was a great way to enhance the learning they have done in class.
