Our first topic as year threes was about the human body. We learnt so many interesting facts about how our bodies function.
We started by learning about what makes us healthy. We looked at the 'healthy eating plate' and decided to make our own healthy packed lunches. We realised that only eating fruit or vegetables does not make us healthy.
After this, we learnt about the skeleton. We listened to a catchy song to learn the different bones in the body, looked at x-rays of bones and even had to re-assemble a skeleton. Julia was the first member of our class to do this!
Following on from this lesson, we learnt about the muscles in our body. We were taught that our muscles contract and release. We found this lesson hilarious as Miss Knight looked like she was having a poo!
We have really enjoyed our first half term of science and are looking forward to learning about light in the next half term!
