What the Children Do

Blackpool Class have learnt how to make bread for their design and technology unit this half term. They used their literacy knowledge to follow a recipe. They used their maths knowledge to measure the ingredients. They talked about fractions quarters, half and whole to check they had measured accurately. Whilst making the dough they talked about the ingredients turning from a liquid to a solid when they are mixed together. They talked about the importance of using warm water to help is rise. Once the bread had been left to rise, they each had a small piece to make their own hedgehog bread roll. Making sure they pinched the dough to make spikes and poke it to make eyes.
