Websites

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYYNhVwvGJs&list=PLfW4cqa3-nhu3ANsP8AWatFlkGWXvhFwa – This link will take you to a playlist of videos on YouTube made by a primary school teacher in Yateley. She explains – in child-friendly speak, the best sitting position, paper position and pencil grip for both left-handed and right-handed children to ensure your child is in the most comfortable position before starting their writing. She then models how to form letters and how to join – but please do not watch these videos as the handwriting style does not reflect the Tower Hill handwriting script.

http://www.teachhandwriting.co.uk - This link will take you to an amazing site which goes through everything from the presentation from the Handwriting session in a lot more detail. It has information and diagrams about seating position, pencil grip, supporting left-handed and right-handed writers and the developmental stages that children go through as their handwriting develops. If you need any support with helping your child please visit this website!

www.twinkl.co.uk – Another amazing site which has a huge amount of free resources for you to download and use to support any area of learning but especially handwriting. Lots of pre-handwriting patterns for children to trace as well as letter formation, word and sentence practice.
